Snowy 2.0 Talbingo Cable Lay Project - Employment Page
The goal of our project is to lay a communications cable along the Talbingo Reservoir lakebed from the T3 Power Station to Lobs Hole. This is a distance approximately of 26 kilometres. The project is due to start in March 2020 and to be completed by June 2020.
We are looking for local people to assist us with a variety of tasks. We dont know who is out there or what skills you have so please tell us. We will be working six days a week (Mon to Sat) and generally your employment will be on a barge with a daily departure point at the Talbingo Dam wall boat ramp.
This work is on and around the water, so being comfortable near the water is important. We don't expect you to enter the water, but it is essential that you know how to swim and tread water "just in case".
This is a construction project in remote area, and manual handling will be part of the works, so good health and moderate physical fitness is required. All staff will need to complete the "General Induction for the Construction Industry" card (a.k.a. "White card").
It is very desirable for you to have experience in handling small boats and trade experience such as first aid, welding, rigging, carpentry.
We will be holding interviews in the next two weeks in Talbingo. If you are interested in applying please do so by filling out the form below. Please submit the form rather than calling us, as we want to give everyone who is interested an equal opportunity. I promise that we will contact everyone who sends us an application.
Note that the pay and conditions will be subject to your level of qualifications and experience but it will meet or exceed the applicable industrial award. Also note we only employ staff as employees not as contractors.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this application,
Alan McLennan, Project Manager.
Tip - take your time, the better quality information that you give us, the more likely we are to find a place for you.
